Lobbyists Terminating LDA Registrations

The Hill reports on a new study disclosing that federal lobbyists are terminating their registrations at a record pace.  According to the study, over 1,400 lobbyists terminated their Lobbying Disclosure Act registrations during the second quarter of 2009.  Many observers have questioned whether the rapid increase in lobbyist registration terminations are due to the recent lobbying restrictions imposed by the Obama administration, or the economy, or both.  It will be interesting to see if the same study is conducted for the third quarter of 2009 and whether the trend continues.  The Hill article can be found here.

UPDATE: The link to the study can be found here.
